Loch Nessie might know about her American cousin, but I doubt she’s met this gal, who’s named in her honor and who might just be a distant relation. Now that is a family reunion I’d like to see.

I like your drawings a lot. As one who does plein air drawing myself, your work tickles my curiosity in a number of ways, and I hope
you wouldn’t mind responding to a question or two.
I like to know how much of any given image is done on site, outdoors I assume, and what do you save for finishing off in some studio setting ? I could see you doing a black and white ink drawing on site, and then filling in color in a more sheltered place like a studio. Or not . And are you using watercolor out of a tube or from the little watercolor cakes. You get fairly saturated color which makes me think its from a tube.
I have done plain air drawings in some very awkward places, and resorted to colored pencil for color because watercolor, which I would prefer, is a bit of a hassle on the site.
Thanks / Jerry
Thanks, Jerry! My process really varies, depending on the situation. I try to do as much as I can on-site, including color, but sometimes I need to do some or much of the finishing work later (sometimes in the studio, sometimes that evening in a hotel room or coffee shop). You can read more about my process on my about page.
