These days there are many places where the Freedom Trail is marked with ugly red paint on concrete. But wherever you can find the path traced in brick, running out from one of the old bronze markers—well, that’s where you can almost feel history pulsing under your feet.
I like how the sense of stability is conveyed in your drawing of the bricks. I can feel the texture. Very cool!
Wonderful pages the last few weeks. Love love love your artistic rendition of your stay in California.
Such a cool way to record your life and your experiences.
This particular picture – did you work from a photograph, memory, or a rough sketch?
It is so great!
Thanks so much, Cathie! For this particular sketch, the watercolor was added later, from the aid of my photographs that day, but I did the line drawing from life, on site. I try to do as much as possible on site, in the moment, but many times I have to add color after the fact—especially on a whirlwind trip like this one was. Hope that makes sense!
